What Does a “Green” Designation for U-Med Mean?
The
U-Med Green District designation provides our neighboring
organizations with opportunities to explore and identify
cost-effective sustainability practices we want to advance,
and then to achieve these goals by creating collaborations
that leverage the District as a whole. Having this
designation also provides our employees opportunities to
participate in sustainability by working together, learning
from each other, and then taking action at their work
places. The hope of the Green District is that all of our
actions will go beyond our work lives and inspire us to
take actions that advance sustainability in our homes and
community. Our commitment is for U-Med District
organizations to meet on a regular basis to identify
activities and priorities and provide periodic reports to
our respective organizations as well as to the Municipality
and the Anchorage Community on our achievements.
